I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University. I teach graduate-level and undergraduate-level courses in environmental and natural resource economics. My research is primarily in the areas of natural resource and agricultural economics. Some of my recent projects have focused on groundwater and land values in Kansas. Some of the methods I use are nonlinear programming, hedonic modeling, surveys, and discrete choice modeling. I sometimes collaborate with researchers outside economics, such as agronomy and various fields of engineering. My work has appeared in academic journals such as American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Resource and Energy Economics, and Science. I also serve on the graduate committee and act as liaison to the Kansas Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
In my spare time I enjoy fly fishing, hunting, and golf.
